MAP03, Greenflower Zone Act 3, abbreviated as GFZ3, is the third act of Greenflower Zone, the first zone in Sonic Robo Blast 2 v2.2. It consists of a boss fight against the Egg Mobile in a simple arena.

The next act is Techno Hill Zone Act 1.

The previous act is Greenflower Zone Act 2.

Walkthrough

You start the fight with 10 rings. The arena provides no additional rings, so be mindful of re-collecting most of your rings if you drop them. Be wary of the fact that they fly farther every time you are hit. Initially, Eggman will shoot at you with his laser. Before each shot, he will raise his hand and press a button. The laser initially shoots at the ground aimed towards you, but it slowly angles up and sweeps an area in front of Eggman. Use the move keys to evade the laser without losing sight of Eggman, as the laser cannot track you horizontally. Jump at Eggman between shots to hit him. It is also possible to hit him while he fires a laser, though this is riskier. After each successful hit, he charges away from you.

After five hits, Eggman will start using the laser more aggressively. At this point, every time Eggman presses the button, three lasers will be fired instead of the usual one, preventing you from hitting him from the front at all. This attack is done three times in quick succession before Eggman goes back into his roaming state. Moving to the side is still a viable dodging option, but lightly tapping the keys may no longer be enough. Though it is possible to hit him from the side during his attack, it's recommended to wait for Eggman to stop firing lasers before hitting him, as this is far safer. After three more hits, Eggman is defeated and an Egg Capsule rises in the center of the stage. Step onto the yellow button to end the level.

Speedrunning

The key to beating this boss as fast as possible is to hit him so rapidly that he has no chance to attack. Try to get close to Eggman before you jump up to him. If you jump at him from afar, the rebound will propel you back across the arena, giving him enough time to charge his attack. If you keep jumping at Eggman from the same direction, you will eventually trap him in a corner where he cannot retreat, making it easier to hit him.
